As a young Irish citizen I would like to thank you for putting yourself forward in the upcoming general election. Now more than ever this country needs leadership that matches hope with reality.
In deciding who is best placed to provide that leadership we, the people, have an awesome responsibility. As an electorate we are ultimately responsible for Ireland’s future. We can not base our decisions solely on what you promise. Government decisions have serious consequences and as a people we need to take our responsibility to choose that Government just as seriously.
Any job interviewer will tell you that past behavior is by far the most accurate indicator of future performance. It is time for the Irish people to start examining the specific details of your past achievements and ask you, the candidates, why you believe that those experiences make you the best person for the job of running our country.

That is why, over recent weeks I and several volunteers have worked alongside one of Ireland’s leading recruitment agencies, Brightwater Recruitment, to develop a list of the information the Irish people should require from candidates so as to properly assess and compare all of the candidates in their constituency and decide who they believe is the most qualified to be their representative.
You are requested to go to www.telluswhy.ie/submit where you can view our specific requests and provide the relevant responses. We know you are busy and so we have tried to balance the electorates’ need for information with the time constraints that you face in providing the information. In most cases you should have the information to hand and will have considered the questions so it will just be case of entering it into our fields. Your information will not be edited in any way however a completed form is necessary for publication.

We will call on the Irish electorate to make use of the information you provide in deciding who to vote for. To benefit from this opportunity to communicate your case to your constituents and to provide them as much time as possible to deliberate in their decision I would request that submit your information to www.telluswhy.ie/submit with the utmost urgency.
